School Year Update

NEW SCHOOL YEAR 2011-2012 STARTED

Please continue to support our educational program, which provides to our students and their families hope for a better life. Your support enables us to teach disadvantaged teenage students the necessary skills to obtain and hold a job in Mexico where they will be both an asset to and an inspiration for the economic and moral development of their country.

FIRST DAY OF CLASSES

Your generous donations for school supplies provided students a back-pack, a binder, line paper, pencils, pens, erasers, glue, markers, colored pencils and 2 notebooks. Several students received special aid to buy their uniforms, thanks to the Adopt-A-Student Program. Unfortunately, not all of our students have a sponsor. Can you help? $35 per month or $420 per school year provides free breakfast and, as needed, help for bus fares to attend school, school supplies and/or uniforms.

TWO FREE MEALS AND A SNACK

Hungry students cannot learn! Besides breakfast paid by sponsors of the Adopt a Student Program, our students also receive lunch by noon and a snack at 3:30.

Our class schedule is 7:30 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. but most students stay until 5 P.M. to do homework using our computer equipment. Donations for the meal program are appreciated.

Cost: $15 per student per month.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP

v ACCIDENT INSURANCE: ONLY $600 FOR ALL OUR STUDENTS FOR THE WHOLE SCHOOL YEAR.

v UNIFORMS: DAILY UNIFORM AT $75 EACH. /P.E. UNIFORM AT $30 EACH/ SCHOOL SHOES OR TENNIS SHOES AT $35 EACH.

v CLASS MATERIALS, OFFICE AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES AT $700 PER MONTH.

v PROVIDE INK, PAPER & TONER FOR COMPUTER ROOM AT $75 PER MONTH.

v MATERIALS FOR SCIENCE LABORATORY: $75 PER MONTH.

v UTILITIES: $600 PER MONTH.

v BUILDING & EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: $400 PER MONTH.

v FOOD CHRISTMAS BASKETS: $50 FOR EACH STUDENT.

In the 3 years that students stay in our technical secondary program, we watch them grow from children to young adults. We struggle with them to overcome their economic problems, health problems, social and emotional problems, most of the time we come out victorious because we know that people care and love us.
